Deborah (Deb) Jo Zito

Deborah (Deb) Jo Zito, 61, beloved sister and aunt, passed away unexpectedly in her home Monday August 20, 2018. Deb was born in Kalamazoo on August 15, 1957, the daughter of Ralph and Virginia (Johnson) Ellis. She was united in marriage to Thomas P. Zito on December 22, 2004. She spent most of her adult life living in Kalamazoo and was a partner to her husband in their watch repair business. Deb and Tom were constant companions. Deb cherished being a part of the lives of her nieces and nephews and their families. Deb was invested in her community, of which she was a fixture for over 30 years, and enjoyed those friendships with her neighbors immensely. Deb was an avid gardener and enjoyed landscaping around her home, punctuated by a backyard oasis she created, spending countless hours enjoying it with family, friends, and her dogs. Deb is now joyful in the presence of Jesus and all believers that preceded her. She is survived by her brother Graydon Ellis (Mary) of Vicksburg and nieces and nephews, Rebecca Luong (Michael) of Mercer Island, WA, Grady Ellis (Megan) of Vicksburg and Peter Ellis (Hathaway) of Boston, MA. Deb was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and her parents. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. A private burial is being planned for a later date.
