Allan Earl Sawyers Jr.

Allan Earl Sawyers Jr., age 73, of Mansfield, Texas, was tragically and unexpectedly lost on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. He was born on August 7, 1953, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Hazel and Allan Sawyers.

Allan began his working career as a bus driver for the Kalamazoo Public School District, where he faithfully served for more than 30 years. Through his work, he became a familiar and trusted presence in the community.

Allan married Sandra Jean Kasiorek and helped raise her son, Terry Stewart. Together, Allan and Sandra welcomed two sons, Steven and David. Family was at the heart of Allan's life, and he cherished his many grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to spend time with the people he loved.

Allan had a lifelong love of cars, cooking, and crocheting. He also enjoyed camping and traveling, especially when an adventure meant exploring somewhere new. He had a knack for getting lost along the way and then finding his way back, turning even an unexpected detour into part of the adventure.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Sawyers and Allan Sawyers Sr.; and his longtime partner, Phil Music.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Steven (fiancé Ashlee) Sawyers, David (Sagan) Sawyers, and Terry Stewart; his sisters, Chris, Mary, and Maggie; and his many beloved grandchildren.

Allan will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the many interests that made him uniquely himself. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with those he loved and the memories they created together.

In accordance with the family's wishes services will be held at the funeral home with a time for visiting beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m with Pastor Steve Surine officiating. Allan will be laid to rest with his family at South Cemetery of Portage, MI following the service.
