Anne Michelle Wallace

Anne Michelle (Fiebiger) Wallace of Plainwell, MI passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the age of 56. She was born on  December 24, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Warren and Sandra Jo (Pursell)Ted.

She attended Plainwell High School where she enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball. She graduated in the class of 1984. Following graduation she attended Davenport University receiving her Associate’s Degree in 1987. 1987 was an exciting year for Anne for on September 12 she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life and husband of thirty-four years: Gary Wallace at the Plainwell Methodist Church. Later she returned to Plainwell Public Schools and served as a Teacher’s Aid for twenty years until choosing to retire in 2021.

In her spare time she enjoyed working on her 7-10 split with the local bowling league, scrapbooking, or traveling. More than anything she loved being a grandmother aka “Mi Mi”. Anne will be fondly remembered for: a closely guarded secret chocolate chip cookie recipe that everyone loved, being willing to help anyone whether they want it or not, and being a loving grandmother.

Anne is preceded in her passing by her mother: Sandra Jo Fiebiger.

Left to cherish Anne’s loving memory is her husband: Gary Wallace; children: Travis (Krista) Wallace and Shelby Wallace; father: Warren Ted; grandchildren: Thatcher and Saylah Wallace; siblings: Brad (Julie) Fiebiger and Carol Settle; and nieces and nephews: Brandon (Whitney) Fiebiger, Mitchell Fiebiger, Stephanie (Andrew) Taylor and Erik Settle.

Memorials made in Anne’s memory may be directed to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

In accordance with Anne’s wishes cremation has taken place and a public time of visiting will be held at Avink, McCowen & Secord, 120 South Woodhams Street, Plainwell, MI 49080 on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Anne will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery during a private committal service on a later date.

Anna Banana.. You were one of my best friends in 7th grade.. You being an 8th grader.. We would pass notes all the time ..(no cells then!! ) You mentored me in basketball in your driveway.
I had my first Halloween away from home with you at Lake Doster..we had so much fun.. I wanted to do all Halloweens at your house after that.. I looked up to you so much ..you were so beautiful inside and out.. with a laugh that was contagious! You went off to high school and no looking back at middle schoolers.. as we all do.. I missed you so much.. And we actually ran into each other at a basketball game.. literally.. as you were rounding a corner to make a quick bathroom break.. We laughed so hard and it just made me miss you more.. I've always admired you and thought nothing but the best of you.. I'm truly blessed to have spent some fun nights at your house.. and get to know you!! Sending prayers to all that Were ever touched by your loving and heart!!

Gary and Family I send my condolences to you. Anne was such a fun co-worker and I really enjoyed working with her for the few years that I got to. I referred to her as my work Mom. She really loved working with the kids and always had a huge smile on her face. She will be missed

Tom and I first met Anne in the summer before she headed to 6th grade. She had a twinkle in her eye and while being all girl she had a little tomboy in her too. She never lost that twinkle in her eye and she loved her family deeply and was so proud of all of you. We are sad, she was so young and in that young life she gave so much to those around her. While faith tells us she is in Sandy's arms it is still so hard for all who will miss that twinkle and smile. To whole Wallace/Fiebiger Family we send our deepest condolences.

Anne was such a pleasure to work with at Gilkey. She was tuned in to kids and knew what they needed. She was so genuine with them and always with a smile on her face. I remember when she became a grandma- that was her favorite role! I loved listening to her stories about her babies;) I am so glad she was able to spend a couple of years in retirement enjoying her entire family. She will always be their guardian angel now. She was very loved and will be missed.

I had the privilege of working with Anne in 1998/99 when she helped out in my Pre-primary Impaired (PPI) classroom. She always had a smile on her face and was great with all the children and staff! You could tell working with kids was where her passion was and I was sad to see her move on to Cooper but I know she had a great time with Kindergartners. Later she returned to Gilkey and shared her compassion and skills with countless children and staff. Anne touched so many lives. Gary, Travis, Shelby and family you are in my thoughts and prayers.
