Barbara Darrow, age 97, of Plainwell, passed away on July 24, 2020. Barb was born on January 10, 1923 to Peter & Mary (Alicki) Marciniak. Visit with her family and friends Monday, August 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; Marshall-Gren Chapel; 120 S. Woodhams St. in Plainwell. A graveside committal service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Hillside Cemetery. Barb’s family includes her children: Jeanne (Bill) Cooper and Mark (Janyce) Darrow; grandchildren: Keith Darrow, Lisa (Dan) Cox, Lynne (Don) Seibert and Molly (Calvin) VanKeuren-Bragg; 9 great grandchildren as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Guy and her 11 brothers and sisters. Barb and Guy were big Detroit Tigers fans and attended several opening day games as well as several other games throughout the years. It is fitting that Barb passed away on opening day of the Tigers season. For several years Barb was an integral part of Guys work at the local Hardings Market. She hosted countless employee gatherings. She also enjoyed volunteering for Christian Neighbors. Memorial donations can be made to the Christian Neighbors or Medical Team Hospice. Due to COVID-19 concerns, it is recommended that people that attend please wear mask and observe social distancing, as well as any of the current CDC guidelines imposed on the day of the event.
