Barbara Ann Davis, age 73, of Plainwell, passed away with family by her side on August 22, 2026. Barb was born July 3, 1953, in Plainwell, Michigan, to Wayne and Joane (Engel) Reardon. She was the third of four children.

Barb grew up in Plainwell and graduated from Plainwell High School in 1971 as a member of the National Honor Society. After graduating, she began taking classes at Western Michigan University and she worked at Harding’s Market, the local grocery store in Plainwell. It was at Harding’s where a young man named Charles saw her working and asked her out. They dated for a couple of years and were married on February 22, 1975, at the Richland Presbyterian Church.

In 1980, Barb graduated from WMU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education. She began student teaching and then got a teaching position in Florida. Barb and Charles welcomed their son Christopher on October 18, 1976, followed by their daughter Merritt on January 19, 1981. Barb enjoyed knitting, crouching and sewing. She was a crafter, making hats and scarfs for local charities and several gifts for her family.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Charles; her children: Christopher Davis, Merritt (Sam) McClarren; four grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Bonnie, Marc and Diane as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Hillside Cemetery in Gun Plain Township.
