Betty Fern Storteboom, a beloved mother, grandmother, and fiercely dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 86, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Born on April 21, 1939, Betty grew up in a vibrant household as one of twelve children, a fact that surely contributed to her lifelong love of company. She was a proud graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and maintained many close friendships throughout her life, always surrounded by warmth and laughter.

Betty dedicated her professional career to Borroughs Corp., where her exceptional skill and dedication were widely recognized. She achieved the distinguished honor of being named Secretary of the Year in the U.S. and served as the President of the National Secretary Association, testaments to her leadership and commitment to excellence.

Her personal life was defined by a loving and enduring marriage to Roland Storteboom for over 40 years, until his passing on January 14, 2014. Together, they made their home in Portage, Michigan, and built a life filled with family and cherished memories.

Outside of work, Betty embraced life with enthusiasm. She was an avid golfer, bowler, and fisher, often combining her love of the outdoors with her passion for her family at her treasured cottage up North on Wells Lake.

Betty will be profoundly missed by her loving sons, Gary Storteboom and Scott Storteboom, and her daughter-in-law, Tammy Storteboom. She was a devoted grandmother to Ryan, Katherine, Amy, Jacob, and Matthew.

The family extends a special and heartfelt thank you to her daughter-in-law, Tammy Storteboom, for her tireless and compassionate care of Betty in her final years.

In accordance with her wishes, Betty has been cremated, and her ashes will be scattered up North in a private ceremony at a later date, where she will forever be surrounded by the nature she loved.
