Carl Gene Frederick passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), a form of Muscular Dystrophy he was diagnosed with at age 32. His strength, optimism, and unwavering spirit remained constant throughout his life.

Carl was born in Hackleburg, Alabama, on September 6, 1942. At the age of four, his family moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan, where he spent the remainder of his youth. On September 12, 1959, Carl married the love of his life, Helen Weaver, beginning sixty-six years of devoted partnership.

A gifted builder with a tireless work ethic, Carl spent many years remodeling and building homes before moving to Kalamazoo in 1969 to work in commercial construction. In 1970, Carl and his family moved to a forty-acre farm in the Fulton, MI community, where they formed lifelong friendships with their neighbors.

In 1991, Carl and his son, Mike, founded Frederick Construction Company, which has since become a respected business in Vicksburg, MI. Carl proudly served as President until his retirement in 2023. Throughout his career, he mentored countless individuals, generously sharing his knowledge and encouraging others to pursue their own goals.

Carl adored his family and friends, finding joy in every day and in the simple pleasures of life. Watching Gunsmoke and Blue Bloods was one of his favorite daily rituals. Even as his health declined, his positive attitude and sense of humor never wavered, leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Helen Frederick; his children, Rene (Steven) Belcher and Michael (Stephany) Frederick; grandchildren, Melissa (Nate) Hill, Andrew (Lexie) Belcher, Amanda Frederick, and Nicole Frederick; great-grandchildren, Cayden and Cole Hill, Lyla and Maya Raffensperger, and Wyatt, Hannah, Truett, and Cora Belcher; and a special nephew, Gregory Homan.

God has taken our loved one, but the precious memories he leaves behind will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Carl.
