Born November 9th, 1967, Carrie Beardsley led a life full of love and courage. After graduating high school, she stepped into a short but proud career as an OR Tech. in the United States Army Reserve in 1985. Honorably Discharged in 1991, she bounced through several jobs to care for her growing family, until an opportunity presented itself in 2011 to study Massage Therapy at Everest Institute. Carrie completed the courses with ease, quickly establishing her new self-employed career within Portage and Kalamazoo.

In her leisure time, Carrie enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her beloved family, blood-related and unofficially adopted alike. She could be found Sparring or happily entertaining guests at renaissance fairs, sewing new clothing and repairing old, reading to herself or any number of children who considered her house a second home, or digging among her many gardens.

On May 24th, 2026, Carrie's fierce battle ended. She was surrounded by her family. She inspired nearly everyone who met her with her loving, giving and tenacious personality. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend.

Carrie was preceded in death by her stepfather Niel Lassiter and her brothers: Nathan and Kyle Poe.

She is survived by her mother: Frances Lassiter; her brothers: Brenden Poe and Chris Poe; her sister: Katrina Schaefer; her loving husband: Robert Beardsley; her children: Tonni Beardsley, Joseph (Ashley) Beardsley and Travis (Duyên) Simmons; her step-children: Randy Beardsley, Larry (Samantha) Starrett, Ashley Starrett, Nathan Starrett, and Terra Beardsley; her grandchildren: Ava Starrett, Elijah Starrett, Elenor Starrett, Feenix Bowe, Dustin Simmons and Everly Brown.

While the "never agains" and "remember whens" build in the minds that knew her, the courage and kindness that marked her life strengthen the hearts that grieve her.
