Charlene Frances (Bellingham) Armintrout, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 3, 2026. She was surrounded by family and carried by the songs she loved from her favorite country western artists.

A lifelong resident of Michigan, she grew up near Hastings, married Jasper and lived in Plainwell. They loved their vacation home in northern Michigan and spent much time there with their family. They raised three loving children along with five grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Charlene loved a good story, whether it was written or told. She enjoyed watching Westerns with her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed game shows like Jeopardy. She volunteered with the local library and often traded bags of paperback books with her friends and family.

Stubborn as the day is long, she received her college degree at age 70, disregarding a lifelong fear of snakes to do so.

As a member at Doster Community Church, Charlene cared most about family, service, and community. She greeted strangers into her life with a smile as welcoming as the sun. She carried God in her heart and lived a good, long life.

She was preceded in death by sisters Ann, Jean, Ruth and Sue, her husband Jasper, her grandson Timothy.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home.
