Christopher William Liggett was born on March 4, 1952, and passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026.

Chris loved fishing, golf, music, and spending time with family and friends. He had a quick wit, a clever sense of humor and a fun-loving nature. He was also a fiercely competitive card and domino player and a devoted Detroit Lions superfan.

Chris was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and spent his life in the area. He graduated from Portage Northern High School and Hope College. In 1986, he married his wife, Anne Shoup Liggett, and together they were members of Lakeland Reformed Church. Chris was loyal, compassionate, and a genuinely good man. Although he faced significant health challenges, he maintained a positive attitude throughout. The staff at Fresenius Kidney Care loved and cared for him well. The family is very grateful.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Lois Liggett, and his sister, Jenni (GOHOPE) Liggett. He is survived by his wife, Anne Liggett; his brother, Tim Liggett, and sister-in-law, Barb Liggett; as well as a wonderful assortment of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

No formal service is planned. We ask that you remember Chris warmly in your heart. If you knew Chris, you knew how much he loved dogs—from his childhood dog, Cindy, to his current dog, Tucker. If you would like to contribute to a cause close to his heart, Generous Hands Inc., whose mission is to feed the hearts, minds, and bodies of children, would be a meaningful choice. While not an official mission of Generous Hands, Chris and Anne also supported keeping pet food available for families who occasionally could not afford it. If you donate, please mark it "For Pets," and they will provide food and treats for animals. Donating dog or cat food to any shelter would also be a lovely tribute.

He was loved and will be missed.
