I have known Cindy for over thirty years. Even though we were at different campuses, we went to many conferences, restaurants, golf courses, bars and parties together. She was always up for any chance to be with her friends and colleagues, always bringing character and humor wherever she went. Her students enjoyed her hands-on approach to teaching. She is and will be missed by them. After a long battle with her health, it's nice that she is finally at peace.

In 1990, when I was taking classes at KVCC, Cindy was the one who always helped me in the Math Center. After a couple of semesters, she noticed that I was assisting other students while I was working on my math homework, and decided to hire me as a math tutor. She was a wonderful boss, and throughout the years, she became a dear friend. We spent time together during our spring breaks visiting the nearby casinos, exploring the scenic routes, chit-chatting about dogs, food, math, and probability. Cindy loved taking the train with me to Chicago where we would visit my favorite Brazilian restaurant. She used to say that it was also her favorite Brazilian restaurant! Cindy always remembered my birthday by surprising me with my favorite cake from Boonzaaijers Bakery. Cindy had a special way of making everyone feel special, and her kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered. Sending my sincere condolences to all her loved ones. May the wonderful memories of Cindy give your hearts some comfort. I will miss her

My sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to Matt and the rest of Cindy's family. Cindy always had a smile and a funny story to tell at work. She surprised me one day by sneaking up behind me with one of her cute dachshund puppies. Her classes were always full and the students were always disappointed when they couldn't get in. I have thought of her often since she retired in 2016, hoping that she was doing well after all of her health issues. Rest in peace dear Cindy. You will be sorely missed. May your journey on the path to the next chapter of life be filled with light.
