Daniel A. Murray, of Battle Creek passed away on April 27, 2021 at the age of 62. Daniel A. Murray was born to Daniel Anderson Murray Sr. and Castoria Nutall, in the city of Detroit, May 30, 1958. Daniel was the youngest son, and he graduated from Chadsey High School in 1976. After high school, Daniel began to work in the field of security, which he worked for more than 10 years. In 1988 he joined the U.S. Army, where he worked in Communications. He was also assigned to Military Police for special duties. Daniel was a Gulf War veteran who received numerous awards. Daniel felt that it was never too late to make changes in life, so at the age of 54 he decided to go back to school and start a new career as a counselor. Daniel has four siblings that preceded him in death, Daniel Jr., Dianne, Dorothy and Larry. Daniel is survived by three children, Lakeshia his daughter and two sons, Larry and Dujarwin Murray. He has four grandchildren, Mahki, Joshua, Autumn and Austin. Daniel has three living siblings, Mary, Gary and Doris, nieces Chandra, Angela, Michelle, Felecia, Ashley, and nephews Dean, Dazell, Daron, Johnathan (who preceded him in death) and Gary, whom he loved very much. He has a host of other family and friends whom he cherished and loved. Daniel was an active church member at Christian Life Center, where he volunteered his time helping the church in many ways. He often said, "Life is to be lived, not to just exist." He will be dearly missed. "Know Ye that the LORD he is God. It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves.
