Dennis Joe Skalski, of Fulton Michigan passed away with his wife by his side on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the age of 78. Denny was born on July 14, 1947, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was the son of Steve and Lucille (Cosby) Skalski. Denny is leaving behind a legacy of hard work and love that touched many lives.

A proud graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School in 1965, Denny was known for his vibrant personality. He was social, forging friendships wherever he went, and he had a gift for making people laugh with his great sense of humor. Growing up he was in Boy Scouts for several years and had great memories.

After High School, Denny attended Kalamazoo Valley where he received his Law Enforcement training. He served in the Sheriff’s department and then he served in animal control for 33 years.

Denny enjoyed playing card and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most of the time, he could be found riding on his Harley. He enjoyed going to the casino and loved to spend time with his dog, Sammie. His go-to drink was rum and coke and it was better when hanging out with his buddies.

Denny took immense pride in his children: Nicki (Tim) Tutt, Keri (Brian) Colvin, Brian (Jacqie) Skalski. He is also survived by his wife of 10 years, Rhonda; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his brother John (Excelsia) Skalski and of course his fur baby Sammie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 3pm to 6pm at the Athens VFW post 5319; 120 Veterans Dr, Athens, MI 49011.
