It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Frank Williams, 90, of Plainwell, Michigan who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.

Don was born on June 25, 1936, in Cooper, Michigan to Frank and Frances (Engle) Williams. He spent his early years in Plainwell where he made lifelong friendships and enjoyed playing football at PHS for coach Streidl and the Trojans. Growing up, he began building a strong foundation of Faith, family and hard work that would remain at the center of his life.

On July 6, 1956, Don married the love of his life Nancy L. Foust. Together they shared 70 years of marriage and welcomed eight children. Their marriage has been a testament to faith, commitment, devotion and love. Don and Nancy raised the family to put Jesus Christ first, remember the importance of family and family history.

Throughout his life, Don wore many hats. He was an auto mechanic by trade and owned a couple of different gas stations/garages where he had a reputation for being able to fix any vehicle breakdown. He also sold cars, roofing/siding, and pastored a church, always to provide for his family. After his 12 hour days at the station, his spare time was filled with many other interests. He was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Lodge, lead worship music at church, taught Sunday School, served on the Plainwell planning committee and was elected to the Plainwell School Board where he served as President for seven out of eight years. Don was always ready to throw a party and have family over—rain or shine, a party scheduled was a party that happened. He never missed a sporting event at Plainwell where his children were on the field, or playing in the band. He truly had a well-lived life and set a good example for all.

Don is survived by his beloved wife Nancy, his children Michael (Dee), Sandra Spicer, Donald (Toni), Leanne (Kevin) Thiel, Matthew (Cindi) Walter, and daughter-in-law Ingrid. He is also survived by a close friend of the family Renee (Steve)Beckwith; his grandchildren Elizabeth, Kelsey, Chole, Teresa, Leah, Nancy, Gina, Simon, Donald, James, Katherine, Adrianna, Zachariah, Bailey, Caleb, Addison, Holli, Lucas, Michelle, Jason, Rachel, Emma and Mary, along with 21 great grandchildren with 1 on the way and more to follow. He is also survived by his sister Jean Hammond, brother Jim (Sharon) and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his infant daughter Teresa Kay, son Kevin, and grandson Brian; his parents Frank and Frances, sisters Shirley Scott, Neala Godding, Charlene (Chick) Nooney, and brothers Paul and Walter. Also, son-in-law Robert Lash and Reggie Spicer.

A service celebrating Don’s well-lived life will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with Pastor Ray Brown officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon immediately following will all be held At the Master’s Feet Discipleship Ministry, 814 21st Street, Otsego, MI 49078.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Don’s name to At the Master’s Feet Discipleship Ministries or Wings of Hope Hospice.
