Donald Heath

Donald Alen Heath peacefully passed away at Rose Arbor Place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 88. His life was a testament to his unwavering faith, the love he shared with his family, and his heartfelt connection to the community he cherished.

Born on November 30, 1936, in Kalamazoo, Don was the beloved son of Frank William Heath and Eva Florence Wessel Heath, and stepson to Helen Heath. He remained a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo, where he built a life rich in simple joys and meaningful relationships. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School, Don found his soulmate in Marjorie Ann Stull. Their marriage on July 12, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership rooted in faith and mutual devotion. Zion Lutheran Church remained a central part of Don’s life, providing him with a sense of purpose and community. Professionally, Don dedicated himself to the grocery industry, where he moved from store management to sales, always valuing the personal connections he made along the way.

Don’s commitment to Zion Lutheran Church was profound and heartfelt. He was deeply involved in youth ministry, generously sharing his time and talents on mission trips to Appalachia. He also ensured that every service resonated perfectly by managing the sound system with care. Beyond his church activities, Don loved traveling with Marge, especially their cherished trips to Minnesota. Fishing was another of Don’s passions, offering him moments of quiet reflection and peace by the water's edge. He will be lovingly remembered as a kind, dedicated, and gentle man who touched many lives with his warmth and sincerity.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marge; his sister, Bertha Frances (Fran) Maury (Pat), brother Frank R. Heath, and son-in-law, Scott Morgan. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Heath. Don's legacy continues through his children, Kayla Laurin (David) and Karla Morgan-Brown (William); his grandchildren Jacqui White (Jim), Rebecca Morgan, Renae Morgan (Adam Polk), Hannah Laurin (David Boley), and Hunter Laurin; and his great-grandchildren Augustus Polk, Kaleb Morgan, and Aurelia Polk. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry forward his spirit of kindness and love.

A service to celebrate Don’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 2122 Bronson Blvd., Kalamazoo, MI 49008, followed by a luncheon at the church.
