Douglas Lutes

Doug Lutes of Portage, Michigan sailed away from this world on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at his daughter's home in Niles, MI. He was born on December 31, 1938 in Piqua, Ohio, the son of Charles and Frances (Howe) Lutes. On May 29, 1965, he married the love of his life Bonnie. Doug worked in the field of Quality Assurance. During his lifetime he worked at Xerox, Kalamazoo Stamping, Barker & Sons, Precision Tool, and retired from Honeywell. Doug loved his family, sailing a variety of boats, cutting grass on his GE Elec-Trak electric tractors, his country and flag. He was aways watching the weather and checking the wind. He loved being outdoors in all seasons. Doug is survived by his daughters: Christine (Rob) Egly, Renee (Scott) Kurtzweil; son: Brian (Marianne) Lutes; sister: Glenna (Duane) Draving; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
