Edward Rehe

Edward Harvey Rehe, born on January 14, 1949, in Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Portage, MI, at the age of 75. Edward was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by service, hard work, and a love for adventure.

Edward proudly served his country as a United States Marine in Company B, 1st Battalion, during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication to his fellow Marines were hallmarks of his service, and he carried the values of honor, courage, and commitment with him throughout his life.

After his military service, Edward pursued a career as a Mold Maker, where he demonstrated the same precision and dedication that marked his time in the Marine Corps. He eventually retired, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and hard work.

Edward made his home in Vicksburg, MI, for many years, where he built a life filled with family, friends, and passions that brought him joy. He was an avid fisherman who found peace and fulfillment on the water. His love for travel took him on numerous adventures, with Jamaica holding a special place in his heart as one of his happiest destinations. Edward was also a dedicated fan of NASCAR and the Detroit Tigers, always ready to cheer on his favorite teams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and George Rehe; his sister, Pamela Steffic; his brothers, George (Buzz) Rehe and Michael Rehe; and his brother-in-law, Jim Cook. Edward leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters Becky Rehe, Jessi Rehe, and Johanna (Jeff) Crawford; his sisters Patricia Cook and Mary (Jim) Spray; his brother-in-law Ken Bisnett; his sister-in-law Lisa Lewman; his cherished grandsons Noah and Jensen Crawford; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

In accordance with the family's wishes Edward will be laid to rest during a private committal service with complete military honors at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
