Frances Bean On Tuesday, November 3, 2020 Frances Jane Bean passed away peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Fran was born in Kalamazoo Mi on May 18, 1962 as the youngest of 5 children. A few years after high school, Fran set her mind on becoming a teacher and soon after graduated from Western Michigan University. Fran taught 2nd Grade for 18 years in the Gull Lake School District. For many years Fran provided education and excitement to the entire elementary school with her “Caterpillar to Butterfly” live exhibits. Fran was very talented in Photography and was the official family photographer, often creating collage pictures to share with family members. For many years Fran was the primary contact for her Mother living at Friendship Village, working with the nurses and taking her Mother to most of her doctor appointments, to restaurants, and of course shopping. Fran had special relationships with many of her nieces and nephews and will be remembered by them as the “fun Aunt” who organized special games for the kids at family gatherings. Fran has been a strong promoter of the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk for many years by encouraging participation of friends and family. Fran met the love of her life, Michael and they have spent the last 37 years sharing many adventures and travels together. Fran and Mike shared a love for nature and animals at their rural home in Delton Mi. Their dogs and cats were considered “part of the family” and treated as such. Fran will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Wm. Michael Bean as well as her siblings David (Marilyn) Burgie, Virginia Barber, Richard (Jackie) Burgie, Don (Jackie) Burgie, and many nieces and nephews.
