Gary Gene Doolittle, 72, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born on August 17, 1953, in Hillsdale to Gene and Harriet Doolittle. He attended Hillsdale High School and later continued his education at Ferris State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in accounting.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, including time stationed in Italy-an experience he often reflected on with great pride. Following his military service, Gary built a long and successful career as an accountant with Miller Energy, where he worked for 35 years before retiring.

Gary had many interests and passions. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, loved classic rock music, followed the weather closely, and enjoyed anything involving numbers. Above all, Gary treasured his family and took immense pride in his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Gary was a man of deep faith who lived his life according to his beliefs and maintained a strong relationship with God. His kindness, steady presence, and devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Doolittle; his mother, Harriet Doolittle; his children, Matt Doolittle, Ben Doolittle, and Dawn Grimsley and her husband Travis; his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, KylerKaitlyn, Benny, Laura, Brooke, Jackson, Charlotte, and Amelia; and his great-grandchildren, Audrey, Sterling, Serbrina, and Kain.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Doolittle; his brother-in-law Dennis; and his sister-in-law's husband, Ron.

Gary's legacy of faith, love for family, and dedication to those around him will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Memorials made in Gary's memory may be directed to the Valley Family Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

In accordance with the family's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of Gary's life will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 22, 2026, with a time for visiting beginning at 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Gary will be laid to rest during a private committal service at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
