Gary L. Fisher, 77, of Schoolcraft, Michigan, passed away on June 13, 2026.
Gary dedicated his life to education, athletics, and the students of Climax-Scotts High School, where he served as a teacher, athletic director, driver's education instructor, and coach. During a remarkable 41-year career, he touched countless lives through his leadership, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to the success of his students. He retired in 2013, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of Panthers.
Gary's love and dedication for the students of Climax-Scotts was immeasurable. He was known not only for his service to the school but also for the enthusiasm and spirit he brought to every event. His trademark "Go, Fight, Win" cheer, leading student pep rallies through the years, remains forever ingrained in the memories of students, athletes, colleagues, and community members who were fortunate enough to experience his infectious energy and school pride.
Following retirement, Gary remained deeply connected to the communities and people he loved. He especially cherished attending the athletic events of his grandson, Peyton, proudly supporting him from the stands whenever possible. Gary also continued his involvement in local athletics by keeping scorebooks for Schoolcraft High School sporting events and wrestling competitions at Climax-Scotts. In quieter moments, he enjoyed walking the family's beloved Golden Retrievers throughout Schoolcraft, often greeting friends and neighbors along the way.
Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, educator, mentor, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela L. Fisher; his sons, Michael (Lara) Fisher of Bonita Springs, Florida, and John (Lisa) Fisher of Schoolcraft, Michigan; his grandson, Peyton Fisher of Holland, Michigan; and his brother, Daryl (Caroline) Fisher of Portugal.
He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Fisher, and his mother, Jean R. Fisher, both of Clearwater, Florida.
Gary's influence extended far beyond the classroom, the playing field, and the gymnasium. His passion for education, dedication to young people, and love for his family and community created a legacy that will endure for years to come. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Gary's life will held in the cafeteria at Climax-Scotts H.S., 372 S. Main St. Climax, MI 49034 on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 between 6pm - 8pm.
