Listen to Obituary

Grace Elina (Ruedger) Stewart was born July 20, 1989, in Grand Rapids, MI to Stephen and Christine (Jackson) Ruedger. As a child she enjoyed camping and spending time with grandparents and friends. Her friend Megan (Hibma) Weekley was a frequent addition to family adventures that continues even now.

In her teens she developed a love for photography which she carried throughout her lifetime, even as a vocational choice for a season. Having graduated from Mattawan Consolidated Schools in 2007 and acquiring an associate’s degree she sampled various occupations including restaurants and banks, settling into a phlebotomy position at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI.

Along the way she met her soulmate, Connor Stewart. After a few years of traveling around, visiting family, enjoying nature and her favorite nephew Gideon, they married on November 2, 2024. During these years she also developed a love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. It was into His arms she went November 13, 2025.

Grace is survived by her husband and best friend, Connor Stewart; lifelong friend and bonus sister Megan (Scott) Weekley; parents Stephen and Christine (Jackson) Ruedger; sister Leah (Robb) Davis and nephew Gideon; brother Jeremiah (Maddie) Ruedger; grandparents Dorotha (Ruedger) Kolenda and David Jackson as well as a handful of aunts, uncles, and dozens of cousins.

Her infectious laugh, helpful spirit, and love for life will be missed by her family and countless friends. We take comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus and we will join her there when the time comes.

Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial is being planned.
