James Lee Gray

James L. Gray, age 71, of Martin, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2019. Jim was born on July 23, 1947 to Jewel & Effie (Laubenthal) Gray. Visit with his family and friends on Tuesday, July 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home Marshall & Gren Chapel; 120 S. Woodhams St. Plainwell, MI 49080. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Jim's family includes his wife of 42 years, Cathie; his children: Steve (Elaine) Gray, Angela (Vernon) Spears and Joshua Gray; five granddaughter's: Abigail Gray, Cecilia Gray, Alyssa Spears, Hope Spears and Jayla Gray; his siblings: Geraldine Ruell, Marcia (Marvin) Blackford, Richard (Diane) Gray and his brother-in-law Mike Hellberg as well as several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Phyllis and his brother-in-law Bob Ruell. Jim served his country proudly in combat in the Army during the Vietnam War.
