Janet Kay Bohnet

Janet Kay Bohnet, age 72, of Gobles, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1954, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Throop) Bohnet.

Janet dedicated her life to caring for others. After earning her nursing degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College, she began a career as a Registered Nurse, faithfully serving her patients at Borgess Hospital for more than thirty years before retiring. Her compassion, skill, and commitment to her profession touched countless lives, and she will be fondly remembered for the care and comfort she provided to so many.

Janet was united in marriage to James Ferguson, and together they shared more than twenty-eight years of companionship, love, and devotion. Whether at home or out together, Janet and Jim were rarely apart, enjoying life's simple moments side by side.

Janet found her greatest peace in the quiet beauty of country living. She loved her dogs, delighted in feeding the birds that gathered around her home, and enjoyed watching the deer that regularly wandered across the property. Those moments reflected her gentle spirit and appreciation for the natural world.

She was a devoted wife and stepmother whose kindness, steady presence, and caring heart will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Bohnet.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Jim Ferguson; her children, Ron (Dawn) Poulter and Corey (Jamie) Ferguson; her grandchildren, Derek, Ronnie, and Paige Poulter; and sister-in-law: Patsy Lambert.

In accordance with Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services will be held at this time.

Janet will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her unwavering dedication to caring for others, and the quiet joy she found in the people, animals, and simple blessings that filled her life.
