Fergie-dog benefitted greatly from Janet's largesse. After Fergie died this summer, Janet would still stop by to see if I was getting another dog for her to spoil. We'll miss her and her smile around the village.

I will miss you coming to visit me at the front desk almost everyday! God defiantly gave you the gift to tease and a caring heart for anyone in need. Snitch will especially miss your doggie cookies. Rest In Peace my sweat friend.

Janet was such a treasure. Her gruff exterior hid a heart of gold. Miss you my friend till we reunite in heaven. God speed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Jan's passing. My dog Scooter would keep a look out for her car while we were on walks and would run right over and put his paws on the window to get his "cookie." She always had a smile and so did we. The South County News wanted to do a story about her but when I asked her if she'd be ok with it, she said absolutely not - she didn't want any attention. I'll miss those brief, kind and friendly interactions.

It always made my day when Janet would pull over to give my dog a treat. She would smile and say "oh, he looks like he's missing a few meals, can he have a cookie?"
Her love and respect for animals was inspiring.
She will be missed.

I was a classmate of Janet at Marcellus Rural Agricultural Schools, yes, that was the name of our school. Janet was the very best softball player for the class of 1960. Well, we did not have a high school team but we were very good in 5th grade thanks to the batting skills of Janet. She was a team player and a good friend.

Janet was a classmate of my husband and mine. When we competed in sports you always wanted her on your team. She could hit the ball . Her parents were the kindest people always tending to others .Her mom which I knew as Scottie ran our villages eldercare, home and her children always helped.
