Jeanette Elizabeth HoutsJeanette Houts, age 96, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2021. Jeanette was born August 10, 1925, to George & Hazel (Tefft) NcNeal. Jeanette from Schoolcraft High School in 1943. She married Errol Houts Sr. on February 19, 1944. Visit with family and friends on Friday, October 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; Rupert Durham Chapel, 409 S. Main Street Vicksburg, MI 49097. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 11:00 at the First Presbyterian Church of Schoolcraft; 224 E. Cass St. Jeanette is survived by her five sons: Errol Jr. (Barbara), Dan Sr. (Kathy), Len (Pat), Lon (Laurie) and Clint; nine grandchildren: Brian, Doug, Dan Jr. David, Brad, Chad, Alicia, Amber and Michael; seventeen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her sister Barbara as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Errol Sr. of 38 years; four siblings: Olin, Gene, June and Shirley. Her hobbies include ceramics and painting and making porcelain dolls. She was very artistic. Jeanette also bowled and enjoyed playing Bunco with a group of friends. She had dogs and cats that she loved. She was active with the senior center. She had a deep faith and attended church regularly. She helped with the bake sale. Summer vacation was spent at the family cabin up north, she enjoyed her time there with family. I knew Jeanette from church. She and Polly Boodt made amazing carmel corn for the bazaars. She also brought her porcelain dolls to the bazaar. Jeanette attended a Bible/book study group l led for five or six years in the early 2000s. I also remember visiting her at Borgess when she had open heart surgery. Her friendship was a gift.

JEANETTE HOUTS WAS MY MOTHER IN LAW. WE SHARED MANY ACTIVITIES : BOWLING PAINTING CERAMICS & VISITING FAMILIES. SUNDAY WAS THE DAY WE HAD HOMEMADE PIZZAS. THE HOUTS FAMILY WERE LOVING PERSONS. MY SONS BRIAN & DOUG WERE BLESSED HAVING "BE MA " AS GRANDMA. WE ALL LOVED HER & WILL KEEP OUR MEMORIES OF HER WITHIN OUR HEARTS. WE MISS YOU ! OUR LOVE **GWEN BRIAN & DOUG 10-24-2021
