Jeffrey Alan Schneider, 53, of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly September 1, 2026. 

Born on March 29, 1973, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jeff grew up in Plainwell where he met Trina, who he always said was the one he had eyes for. They started their lives together in 1991 and married on June 8th, 1998. They would spend the next 35 years together raising four amazing daughters, Alexis, Elizabeth, Ashlee, and Morgan. Watching each of his four daughters grow and become who they are was among the greatest joys of his life and was so proud of each. He was also a proud grandfather to Riki and Sophia, who brought immense happiness to his life and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of his unborn granddaughter Vera Mae. 

He was an incredibly intelligent man who worked passionately as a Spring Machine Programming Engineer. 

Jeff was incredibly empathetic, quick witted, full of energy, goofy, encouraging and full of confidence. He lived for connecting with people and never passed up a moment to help anyone who needed it. 

Jeff’s fondest memories were made on the softball fields, surrounded by the close-knit family and friendships formed there. Known affectionately as “Papa Jeff,” he was an incredible mentor to many younger players. He had a special way of encouraging others, offering guidance and support, and helping people believe in themselves. His presence on and off the field made a lasting difference in the lives of many. 

A passionate competitor and dedicated teammate, Jeff also loved playing billiards. Where he encouraged his wife to join him and they would spend many years together playing on a league all around Kalamazoo. Jeff was so enthusiastic about teaching others the game but teaching his wife and watching her find the same passion for the game was his greatest joy. He proudly led his team and pushed everyone around him to challenge themselves and exceed their own expectations. His commitment to the game earned him a Level 7 ranking, the highest skill level, a reflection of both his talent and determination. Jeff and his wife qualified to compete in the National Team Championship Tournament in Las Vegas 4 times with his highest achievement being an impressive 5th place overall finish. 

He also loved participating in Gus Macker basketball tournaments and competed whenever he could. His love of sports, competition, and the camaraderie that came with being part of a team was a defining part of who he was. Whether on the softball field, at a billiards table, on the basketball court, or out golfing, Jeff enjoyed giving his best and sharing those moments with others. 

Jeff loved music and took great pride in modifying the stereo systems in his vehicles. He enjoyed finding the best speakers and subwoofers possible, creating sound systems with bass powerful enough to blow your hair back. Music, a great sound system, and a ride with family or friends were simple pleasures that brought him genuine happiness. 

Jeff had a bold personal style and a true love for tennis shoes. He built a collection filled with some of the most vibrant and eye-catching styles, each pair reflecting his personality. He would keep his shoe collection pristine. He also cared deeply for his five chihuahuas, who were an important and cherished part of his life. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lois; his father, Charles "Chuck;" and his brother, Charles "Chuck". 

Jeff is survived by his devoted wife, Trina; his cherished daughters, Alexis (Rik Sabate), Elizabeth (Cameron VanGoeye) , Ashlee, and Morgan; and his treasured grandchildren, Riki and Sophia. He is also survived by his siblings, Janetta, Brett, and Loretta; as well as his nieces and nephews, Tracy, Megan, Brittany, Zach, Jamie, Justin, and many others. 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. 

Jeff will be deeply missed by his family, friends, teammates, and the many people fortunate enough to have met him.
