John "Timmy" Marshall

John Timothy Marshall (Timmy) age 62 of Plainwell, Michigan passed away March 20th, 2023, at Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo, Michigan Timmy was born in Plainwell, Michigan on May 24, 1960, a son of the late Ronald and Sally (Risner) Marshall. He was raised in Clyde, Ohio until 1976 where the family moved back to Plainwell Michigan.

Timmy spent most of his life playing his guitar and singing. Guitar playing was his passion as he taught many family and friends how to play, including special nieces and nephews.

Timmy worked with his dad in the timber business, including logging, cutting trees, and buying timber.

Timmy is survived by his siblings Irene (Charlie) Smith of Plainwell, Dean (Brenda) Marshall of Otsego,  Eva Brower of Plainwell whom he lived with and she cared for him until his death,  Eugene Marshall of Plainwell,  Jessica (Roy) Elkins of Plainwell, June (Donny) Bacon of Martin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Timmy was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife Cindy Hall, sister and brother in law Pam and Elmer Dyer,  brothers Jimmy and  Dana Marshall, and his brother in law Herb Brower. 

Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will be held at House of Prayer Church, 6097 Marsh Road, Shelbyville, Saturday, March 25 at 11 am followed by a graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery with Pastor Charlotte Craft officiating. A luncheon to follow at the church.

The family is being cared for by the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; 120 S. Woodhams St. in Plainwell.
