Josue Trevino

Josue "Josh" Trevino, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Miami, Florida. He was born on March 13, 1988, in Weslaco, Texas, the son of Manuel and Edmunda (Olvere) Trevino.

To his friends and family, Josh was known by many names, including "Vino," "Pandda Jachi," and "B.B.S.," short for "Big Bear Security." Each name reflected a different part of the personality that made Josh so memorable to the people who knew and loved him.

Josh was a proud graduate of Loy Norrix High School, where he graduated in 2006 with a 4.0 GPA and received a Certificate of Excellence. He was also honored to serve as the Winterfest King during his senior year. Josh loved sports and was especially passionate about the Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions, his all-time favorite teams. He was also a talented football player, receiving the 2005 Most Valuable Offensive Player Award from the Loy Norrix Football Team.

Josh was a hard worker who was never afraid to learn something new or take on a different challenge. Throughout his life, he worked in many different fields, including Burger King, construction, maintenance at JBS, bartending, waiting tables, security and guarding, nursing assistance, home care, plumbing, carpentry, and maintenance in a knife room. He eventually became a business owner, operating his own food truck, El Jefe Norteño.

Josh was known for his determination and willingness to work hard. His varied career reflected his ability to adapt, learn new skills, and find a way to provide for himself and those he loved.

Above all, Josh loved his family. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who leaves behind countless memories with those fortunate enough to share life with him. He also had a special place in his heart for his beloved fur baby, Mancha Trevino.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Manuel and Edmunda Trevino; his siblings, Gabriela L. Vasquez, David L. Trevino, and Giselle M. Trevino; his nieces and nephews, Fernando L. Vasquez Jr., Gabriel L. Vasquez, Elliana Joyce Trevino, Ali Eliu Trevino, Soriah Rae Trevino, Raelyn Skia Trevino, and Naveen Eliza Evans; and his beloved fur baby, Mancha Trevino.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 2, 2026, with a time for visiting beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon. Josue will be laid to rest with his family at Riverside Cemetery of Kalamazoo following the service.

Josue will be remembered for his hard work, his many talents, his love of sports, his entrepreneurial spirit, and most of all, the love he had for his family and the people who were fortunate enough to call him friend.

As a fitting reminder of the courage and strength Josh carried throughout his life, his family shares Joshua 1:9:

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
