Judy Lee Ford

Judy Lee Ford, 85, of Climax, Michigan, entered the presence of God by his grace on Friday, January 19, 2024.  Judy was born in Vicksburg on September 29, 1938 to Hugh D. Jenkins and Lillian Marie Jenkins (née East).  She is survived by her husband, Bill Ford, of Climax; a sister, Janet Ramsdell, of Yukon, Oklahoma; cousins Billie Weliver and husband Edward, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Willa Popovich, of Kalamazoo, Daryl Longman, of Battle Creek, and Dawn Putney and husband Les, of Middlebury, Indiana; a daughter, Tamara Townsend, of Hemphill, Texas; a son, Tim Townsend and wife Rosalie, of Tucker, Georgia; a daughter, Tracey Piper and husband Gilbert, of Scotts; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a prior husband, Warren Townsend; and her brother-in-law, Leon Ramsdell.  Judy trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation.  She was graduated from Climax-Scotts High School in 1956.  She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses for several years, and was for many years a pastor’s wife.  She served Christ by teaching many dozens of children the Word of God in Sunday School, and providing piano accompaniment of congregational singing for many years and at several different churches.  She was a talented seamstress and cook, in her youth an athlete, and always a knowledgeable watcher of athletic competition.  She was a loving, attentive mother and grandmother who enjoyed watching and encouraging her children and grandchildren in their artistic, academic, and athletic endeavors.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11am and will be held at the Country Christian Evangelical Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Climax Volunteer Fire Department or the Knit Wits Club, care of Julie Tiller.
