When Katharina was 11 years old, she and her family were forced to move from their homeland of Hungary to Germany. It was there, at 22 years old, that she met the love of her life, Lyle Harrison. Lyle was in the United States military and stationed in Germany, when they met. They married on September 6, 1954 in Germany. She moved to the United States to be with Lyle in 1955. She proudly became a United States citizen in 1961. While living in Vicksburg, she was a housekeeper for various local families. Later in life, she joyfully volunteered at Vicksburg High School activities with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casino, playing her slot machines. Being a big kid at heart, Katie was always up for a good game of cards. She loved to watch cartoons and movies. She was a dedicated hard worker with a passionate heart for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spread her love to all she knew including her extended family, friends, pets, and neighbors. She even went so far as to take care of her Doctors by making them pies and assorted treats when she would go in for appointments. Katie will be remembered by her family as loving, caring, strong-willed, and someone that most loved to spend time with her grandchildren. So many memories of Aunt Katie. When we were growing up she and Uncle Lyle would come out to the farm in Lawton. We spent a lot of time with them. She always had a hug and a kiss for you. Felt so loved by her and Uncle Lyle. Many family moments when they have been there for us; will miss the feisty, loving person she was. Always ready to feed you and to play a game of cards. Fly high, Aunt Katie; you will be forever in our hearts. Jim and Joan

I loved seeing her at the gate for events at the high school. She always had a smile and brightened my day just running into her.
