We called her Kate. I grew up on a farm in northern Michigan. She, her brother George and his family were long time friends of my family, having connected even a generation before as they camped on 6 Mile Lake at my grandparent's campground. Kate was an amazing lady! I loved her smile and can almost hear her laugh. Whenever she visited our farm, she brought her friendly personality, fun, and laughter. It was always wonderful to see her. Even after she was no longer to come up north camping, she stayed connected through calls and letters to my mom, who truly enjoyed hearing from her. In her calls and letters, Kate always made the recipient feel lifted up and truly cared about. My mom passed away in September 2021 at the age of 94. Their friendship extended throughout their long lives, and we'll always remember her with love.

We always enjoyed spending time with Katherine when we visited her in South Haven. This is from one of our visits. We truly missed seeing her during Covid and hoped we would get to visit again when this was all over. Thankfully, we can look forward to seeing her again soon in paradise.
