Kathleen Susan McNees, of Martin, passed away on September 12, 2026 at the age of 74.

Kathleen was born December 18, 1951 to Edward and Edith (Horton) Hinga in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Kathleen spent her childhood in Plainwell, Michigan and graduated from Plainwell Highschool in 1970. After graduating she entered the workforce, where she worked alongside a kind and loving man she would eventually call her husband.

On April 29, 1978 Kathleen and Randy McNees were married. They were together for 53 years and shared 48 years as husband and wife. Over the years they were happy to welcome four children into their family; Lori, Brian, Brad, and Dustin.

Kathleen will forever be remembered as the cornerstone of her family, often taking it upon herself to make sure family gatherings were well documented with pictures of the people she loved so dearly. She had a big heart and couldn't help but welcome people into her home, always striving to help wherever she could.

She was a fantastic party planner and thoroughly enjoyed playing card games or completing word search puzzles. The family lovingly remembers her cooking, as she put so much of her heart into making meals for her loved ones to enjoy.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edith Hinga.

She is survived by her husband; Randy McNees, children; Lori London, Brian (Tina) McNees, Brad McNees, Dustin (Ali) London, grandchildren; Victor Sherwood, Ethan McNees, Hailey McNees, Aubrey London, Asher McNees, Luna Sherwood, and siblings; Norman Hinga, Jean Hinga, Dave Hinga, Steve Hinga, Ed Hinga.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16 from 6pm to 8pm at the Plainwell Avink, McCowen, and Secord Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service the following day at 5:30pm.
