Kathleen S. Shoemaker

Kathleen S. Shoemaker, of Wayland passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the age of 66. Kathy was born on February 1, 1955 in Muskegon. As a child Kathy enjoyed ballet. Some of her favorite things to eat were chili, sour patch kids and a burger. She enjoyed her time working for T.J. Max as a sales clerk, because she loved being around all the people. Kathy will be remembered by her family as being beautiful, unforgettable, caring, an unconditional lover, and a breast cancer survivor. Kathy is survived by her four children: Jim (Lisa) Shoemaker; Dana Shoemaker; Caycee (Ray) Ugianskis; Clerissa Francis; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; father: James Leon Smith; two sisters: Pamela Unger and Deborah (Harvey) Dean; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son: Cody Allen Shoemaker; and grandparents: Urdis and Burdette Smith. A memorial gathering will be planned later for the spring of 2022.
