Passed away on Thursday October 8, 2009 at Borgess Medical Center with family at his side. He was born on January 4, 1950 son of the late Harold Sr. and Emma (Gaines) Lockwood. He graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1968 and joined the US Air Force shortly thereafter. He served his country with pride during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1973. On July 24, 1971 he married his wife Sharon Starkebaum who survives. Keith was a hard worker who was employed by the Simpson Paper Company for 27 years, and then worked at the Lear IAC Corp. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching sports and playing sports. He could often be found on the golf course, and was a regular at the Schoolcraft football games. He loved watching classic military and western movies, spending time on the pontoon, playing cards, telling stories, and camping. He is also survived by three children, Scott (Delia) Lockwood of Hickam AFB, HI, Brian (Peggy) Lockwood of Paw Paw, Sheli (Michael) Wright of Schoolcraft; seven grandchildren, Steven, Julia, Trent, Matthew, Catie, Jeremy, and Kyle; five brothers and sisters; Janet (Ray) Guiter of Schoolcraft, Harold (Teresa) Lockwood, Milly (Charles) Goodoff of Vacaville, CA, Larry Lockwood of Edon, OH, Arnold (Rita) Lockwood of Three Rivers; a mother-in-law, Hellen Starebaum; a brother-in-law, Don Wills of Richland; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah; a sister, Carol Wills; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Lockwood. A memorial visitation for Keith will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at 11AM. Please meet in the assembly area 15 minutes prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Schoolcraft Football Boosters.
