Korrey Burroughs, age 40, of Portage Michigan, passed away September 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving fiancée, of 24 years Tonni Beardsley; his mother, ValDora Burroughs (Deau); brother, Jason Burroughs; grandfather Robert Burroughs Senior and several aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind his beloved fur kids — Meeko, Ellie, Reese, Simba, and Hatchet — who brought him endless joy and companionship.

Korrey was preceded in death by his father, Keith Burroughs; his grandparents, Dorothy Morey (Deau), Valmor Deau, and Nelda Burroughs; and his uncles, Stafford Deau; Uncle Kenneth Burroughs and his Aunt Kathy Guess. He is also preceded in death by 6 of his beloved fur kids: Starr, Moka, Harmony, Bud, Pyro, and Luna.

Korrey had a deep love for family and found great happiness in cookouts, outings, and simply being surrounded by the people (and pets) he loved. Nature was his sanctuary — he loved walking nature trails, observing ants and honeybees, and enjoying quiet moments outdoors. Yard work, especially mowing the lawn and raking leaves, brought him a rare peace — it was his way of unwinding and connecting with the world around him. He was the greatest “dad” to his fur kids that built his family.

Korrey went thru an incredibly rough cancer journey and when he passed He was cancer FREE!!

He will be remembered for his kind spirit, his love for the simple joys in life, and his unwavering devotion to those he held dear.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned by the family and will be held at a later date.
