Kriemhilde "Krimmie" Wissler

November 20, 1943 — March 20, 2025

Kriemhilde “Krimmie” Wissler, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Krimmie was born on November 20, 1943, in Sabnitz, C.S.R. In 1945, during the final days of World War II, she and her family—her father, mother, and brother—were forced to flee to the northwestern part of the Bohemian Forest. In 1946, they resettled in Gruningen, Germany, where Krimmie grew up and attended school. In 1967, Krimmie arrived in the United States, where she built a life filled with hard work, love, and lasting friendships.

Krimmie is survived by her children Yorg Rinker and his wife Shannon, Patsy Goodenough and her husband Major, and Mike Wissler and his wife Robin; and by her cherished grandchildren Ryan Roubal, Jake Wissler, and Abby Wissler. Krimmie is also lovingly remembered by her extended family in Germany: Sonja Still, Nicholas Still and family, Hilde Luebbers, Mala Dietz and her family, as well as cousins.

Krimmie dedicated over 40 years to a successful career in the hotel and hospitality industry, where her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on colleagues and guests alike. In the final nine years of her working life, she served as a devoted caregiver, bringing comfort, compassion, and kindness to those in need.

Krimmie was also an avid fan of sports. She played 12" softball, tennis, and golf in her free time, and found great joy in staying active and competitive. A lifelong supporter of the Chicago Cubs, she continued watching games faithfully late into her life.

Krimmie’s life was marked by resilience, love, and a deep devotion to her family and those she served. She will be remembered for her strong spirit, compassionate heart, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
