Larry Boelman

Larry H. Boelman passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born June 1, 1943, in Kalamazoo, MI to Jerry and Grace (Bolhuis) Boelman. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosi; his children: Machelle Powell and Michael (Tracy) Boelman; his brothers: Ron Boelman and his twin, Garry (Anita) Boelman; his grandchildren: Amanda, Michael, and Sydney, as well as, several nieces, nephews, and a very special Uncle Loren Bolhuis. Larry is proceeded in death by his parents.

Larry graduated from Portage High School in 1961. He began his career as a barber. He then spent 25 years as a fireman for The City of Kalamazoo, obtaining the rank of Assistant Chief.  Larry retired as a Lieutenant from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. The Boelman twins have been in my life since kindergarten at Oakwood Elementary. I have so many fond memories of Larry as I was growing up. The stories and escapades we shared are numerous., some unmentionable. I offer my condolences to his family and especially Garry. Sad.

Condolences to Rosi and family and to Garry and Anita and family. Larry will always be remembered as a great friend and care giver to my brother Bob Stafford and a comfort to me upon Bob's death. The three "boys" had so much fun together. May your wonderful memories comfort you.
