Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy (Peterman) Cook, of Kalamazoo; his son, James Cook, of Kalamazoo; his daughter, Carli Cook, of Kalamazoo; and his grandson, Logan Dillard, of Kalamazoo. Along with his sister; Carol Bryant, of Three rivers; and his two brothers; Todd (Kathy) Cook, Of Kalamazoo; and Dick (Carole) Cook; of Climax. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother. Larry was born on January 11th, 1958 in Kalamazoo, MI, to parents James and Juanita (Hoogendoorn) Cook. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School in. After Highschool he accepted a position as a press operator at General Motors, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring in June of 2007. Larry was a very social and highly active man. He was a passionate 3rd baseman; teammates would say he had cat like reflexes when it came to catch the ball. If he were not playing baseball, you could find him on the golf course with his close friends practicing their swings while dreaming of being on the next PGA tour. Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed waking up before the sun to go bass fishing and buck hunting. Joined by his dogs Ike and Toby he liked hunting woodcock and pheasants as well. Larry spent much of his free time with his beloved grandson, Logan. He helped teach Logan to catch a baseball, ride without his training wheels, and be a loving caring kid. Larry was truly selfless man, after his grandson was diagnosed with Cancer; He had cut his own hair off to donate to Wigs for Kids. Larry feed his happiness by making other people laugh or smile. His moto was: If I can make anyone’s day brighter, then it is a good day.
