Louis R. Guminski, 82, of Portage, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo from complications from Diabetes.

Lou was born on July1, 1940, to Norbert and Elva (Meyer) Guminski and raised in South Haven, MI. He graduated from South Haven High School with the class of 1958. In 1959 he married Bonnie Snyder in South Haven. He worked for over 30 years at Western Michigan University’s printing department.

Lou enjoyed all sports especially bowling and golf until recently. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed meeting for breakfast with his former classmates. More than anything else though he loved spending time with family and cherished his grandsons. He was a long time member of the Milwood United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, MI

Louis is preceded in his passing by his parents, brother: Chester Guminski, and sister: Paulette Eldred.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife: Bonnie Guminski of Portage; daughter: Lisa (Robert) Fales of Otsego; grandsons: Matt Fales of South Field and Jacob Trayers of Kalamazoo; brother: David Guminski of South Haven and Suzanne Webb of South Haven; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with the family’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
