Grandma Lucy adopted me 23 yrs ago and announced that she would be my grandma. She was the BEST grandma ever! I have so many wonderful memories. I spoke to her just a week prior to her passing and she reminded me that she would ALWAYS BE MY GRANDMA! that she loved me and was hugging me. I am BLESSED! I love you grandma and miss you terribly. Kit and I offer our deepest condolences to Lucilles family and friends. She was a dearly loved icon to many of us. I am Linda Lirot, daughter of Lillian Hershey (who passed away this past March at 95). As pictured, Lucille and Lillian celebrated their September birthdays together with prayer group each year. We knew Lucille through Unity Church and the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group which was founded by these and other amazing women 59 years ago. Getting to know Lucille through these spiritual organizations helped shape my outlook, beliefs and faith. Lucille became a mentor and another mother to me. I love and admire her, and I am so blessed to have had her as a friend and prayer partner all these years. She gracefully accepted joy, loss and change in her 102 years, remaining peaceful, loving, faithful and calm. Our deep loss is a welcoming gain to all those dear to her that have gone before her. I know she will be Divinely guided and gratefully celebrated as she continues her adventure on the other side. May God hold her in his loving arms as her dearly loved family and friends welcome her soul. She truly had a life well-lived... one we can aspire toward. I love you, Lucille.

Lucille came into my life when I was 12 or 13 and was my honorary grandmother for over 30 years (and an honorary great-grandmother to my 3 daughters). I'm so grateful for my time with her and admire her resilience and the way she lived her life to the fullest. Thanks for being a role model, Lucille. I will miss you.

I am Barbara's sister and enjoyed occasional holidays with Lucille. What a beautiful lady she was and loved by all. Yes, rest well, Lucille.
