Lucille Mae Pfost

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lucille Mae Pfost, affectionately known as Mae, who departed this life on September 15, 2026, at the age of 76. Mae passed away peacefully at her home in Schoolcraft, Michigan, after a courageous battle with bone cancer. She was surrounded by the comfort of her loved ones, in the place she cherished most. Born on July 19, 1950, in Schoolcraft, Michigan, Mae was the beloved daughter of Daniel and Dorothy Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mae leaves behind a loving family including her devoted husband, Kenneth Pfost, who she married on July 27, 1970 and her cherished sons, Todd and Dayton Pfost, her sister Joy Westra (Steve) and her brothers Bradley and David Crawford (Debbie). She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, who will remember her fondly. Mae was a proud graduate of Schoolcraft High School, class of 1968, where she began to forge many lifelong friendships and connections. Her professional journey was marked by dedication and success, notably at Stryker Medical, where her contributions earned her a place on the Wall of Fame. Mae and Ken pursued Ken's passion for baking by owning a bakery, where their delectable creations delighted many. Beyond her career, Mae was a dynamic and influential member of her community. She served on the Schoolcraft Village Council and was honored to hold the position of Mayor of Schoolcraft Village. Her commitment to serving others was unwavering, and her leadership left a lasting impact on the community she loved. Mae's life was rich with hobbies and interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She shared a special bond with her father and Son's and together they enjoyed regular visits to the casino, where laughter and good fortune often followed. Mae also found happiness in her weekly "Wine Wednesday and Crafts" gatherings with her girlfriends, where creativity and camaraderie flourished. Mae also enjoyed cruises she went on with family and also loved bowling with Ken in the couples bowling league. In respect of Mae's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will take place with her family only. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bronson Cancer Center 805 John Street, Kalamazoo, MI. 49001 in Mae's honor. Lucille Mae Pfost will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend. Her warmth, humor, and indomitable spirit touched the lives of many.
