Lyle Alan Lehr, of Mendon passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the age of 65. He was born on May 21, 1960, in Kalamazoo. He was the son of Claude and Elise (Richardson) Lehr. A beloved husband, dedicated worker, and cherished friend.

Lyle graduated from Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, with the Class of 1978. After completing his education, he embarked on a career in the restaurant industry, working at various locations. It was while working at a restaurant in Kalamazoo called Lucky Steer, that he met the love of his life, Janice Wooten. Their marriage on November 27, 1982, was a moment Lyle proudly cherished. They shared 42 wonderful years together, building a household filled with love and laughter.

After his time in restaurants, Lyle transitioned to a career with Banner Commercial Linens, now known as Cintas. This change laid the foundation for a significant chapter of his work life at Graphic Packaging, where he dedicated over 20 years of service and ultimately retired as a Plate Room Tech.

Lyle's personality was one of distinct contrasts; as described by Janice, he was outspoken and strong-willed yet possessed the heart of a teddy bear. He had a warmth that made him approachable and a genuine presence that his friends and family will deeply miss.

Outside of work, Lyle found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an excellent cook and the master of the grill. His love for sports led him to enjoy watching the Detroit Lions and the Little League World Series. While his affinity for the outdoors shone through during his annual trips to Man Camp every October. There, he enjoyed deer hunting on his property in Baldwin, Michigan, where he built a cabin after years of tent camping. Lyle also had a fondness for animals, especially his dogs, who would enjoy his squirrel hunts around the home.

As we remember Lyle, we celebrate a life richly lived—a man who dedicated himself to his family, embraced the outdoors, and spread joy through his culinary talents and robust personality. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Lyle is preceded in death by his father: Claude Lehr; two brothers: Garry and Larry Lehr.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 42 years: Janice; mother: Elise Lehr, of Kalamazoo; two sisters: Janet (Rick) Bowers, of Portage; and Diane (Steve) Hewitt, of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Lyle has been cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.
