Marilyn Jane Woodworth, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at the age of 90. Marilyn was born October 7, 1932, in Martin, Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Knol) DeBruin.
She graduated from Martin High School with the class of 1951. When Marilyn was young, she was the MVP Basketball player on the high school team and the Salutatorian of her class.
Marilyn was a nurse for several years in Dr. Topp’s office. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and did missionary work in South America. She faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church in Battle Creek. Marilyn’s family will remember her as a pillar of the family and the matriarch that held the family together.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Steve (Sandy) Cobb and Jeff (Christine) Cobb; her grandchildren: Erin (Chad) Hanson, Jaclyn Thompson, Amanda (Ken) Remo, Breanna Cobb, Joshua (Carmen) Cobb and Jessica (Mitch) Burkhead as well as numerous great and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Marietta, and her stepchildren: Rod (Cindy) Woodworth, David (Cindi) Woodworth and Vanita (David) Miller as well several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her husband David Kirk Woodworth; her son Brian and her siblings: Jeanette, Dorothy, Hank and Henrietta.
The family invites you to enjoy some good food with them and your favorite memories of Marilyn at the memorial luncheon at the Gun River Conservation Club on Saturday August 26th, 2023 from 2pm to 6pm.
