Molly E. Gould

 Molly Emma Gould, 73, of Portage, MI, passed away on October 19, 2025, of breast cancer surrounded by family. Molly was born August 26, 1952, in Owosso, MI, the daughter of Mary Emma Hendry (Beattie) and stepfather Rader Hendry.

Molly graduated from Ashley High School in 1970, then went on to college, earning a bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University.

Molly worked as Administrative Assistant in the State of Michigan within the Department of Health and Human Services, and after several decades retired.

Molly loved animals, nature, bird watching, and hiking. Molly especially loved her dearest dog Riley of 13 years that passed in 2023. Molly was a long-time vegetarian and farmers’ market enthusiast. Molly donated to several conservation and animal welfare organizations over the years.

Remaining to cherish Molly’s memory are niece Sarah Gould, nephews David (Annie Albury), and Daniel (Nicole) Gould; and several extended family members, including aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding Molly in death is her mother, Mary Hendry (Beattie) and step-father Rader Hendry; brothers, William Gould and Dean Hendry; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her dearest dog Riley.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 25 at 2pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1106 South Washington Street, Owosso, MI 48867. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society, Sierra Club or your local animal shelter.
