Norma also contributed her time and energy as a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes in Kalamazoo.
Her hobbies brought her much joy; she sang in the church choir at Sunnyside United Methodist Church, where she and Jim were faithful attendees. She was actively involved in the church’s worship committee and the Women’s Group, sharing her faith and talents with those around her. In her early life she was involved in community choirs and often sang for friends and families at weddings. In her free time, Norma enjoyed crocheting and engaging in word search and sudoku puzzles, activities that reflected her vibrant personality.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Norma described her as strong-willed, compassionate, and deeply faithful to her Lord and Savior. Her adventurous spirit shone through during her travels across the country alongside Jim, during which they enjoyed creating cherished memories in the pursuit of historic sites, lighthouses and covered bridges.
Her legacy of love, faith, and community service will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Norma will be remembered as a proud wife, mother and grandmother, for her many accomplishments, and the warmth and kindness she brought into the lives of others.
