Patricia M.(Plott) Martin, of Kalamazoo passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the age of 80. Patricia was born in Battle in Creek, Michigan. She was the youngest daughter of Conrad R. and Dorothy (Mulder) Plott on July 18, 1940. The family moved to Pennfield Township when she was five and she began school there when Pennfield educated its children in numerous one- and two-room schools. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. After holding a number of responsible jobs in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, she took a position in the Sociology Department at Western Michigan University where she worked as assistant to the chair for 30 years, retiring in January 2000. She earned top honors for her work performance at the Defense Logistics Services Center (Outstanding and Sustained Superior Performance Award) and WMU (Quarterly and Annual Staff Service Excellence Awards). A late bloomer, she graduated summa cum laude from WMU in 1981. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan in the Development Office and at Bronson Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John M. Plott. She is survived by her son, Shaun M.' Martin\two sisters, Clarideth (Jeanne) and Melanie Plott; two nieces, Deborah K. Plott and Johanna Dav1f; and three nephews, Michael, John and Patrick Plott. Patricia has been cremated and at this time no services are planned.
