Paula Milbeck

Paula Lynn (Matyas) Milbeck of Portage, MI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on July 23, 1943, to loving parents Andrew and Olene (Harper) Matyas.

Paula was preceded in death by her beloved husband Buzz, and her son Donald. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.

Paula is survived by her sons, Richard (Rose) Milbeck and Robert Milbeck and family, her dear sister Pat Morris of Menifee, CA, and her niece Katrina (Jim) Despain of Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandon Carlson/Milbeck and Cassandra Lawton, and great-grandchildren, nieces Ann and Mary Milbeck, Marge Milbeck, along with many cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews of the Matyas family.

Paula found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished spending time in her backyard, surrounded by the warmth of bonfires and the company of dear friends from Prairie Edge Church. Paula had a gentle spirit and found solace in nurturing nature, whether it was through feeding birds, engaging in puzzles, deepening her faith through Bible study, or the comfort of knitting, she was also an avid University of Michigan fan that bled maize and blue.

A memorial service to honor Paula's life will be held on Friday, February 16th, at 11:00 am at Prairie Edge Church, located at 9316 Oakland Drive, Portage, MI 49024. Following the service, a small luncheon will be provided, offering an opportunity for family and friends to share memories and support one another during this time of remembrance.

Paula will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and warmth that she brought to the lives of those around her.
