Pauline Kubacki

Listen to Obituary

Pauline Kubacki passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ Our Lord on December 18, 2025. The daughter of Bernard and Florence Booms, Pauline spent her final days in Oshtemo, Michigan and previously lived in Bad Axe, Michigan.

Born in Harbor Beach, Michigan, Pauline graduated from Our Lady of Lake Huron High School in 1965. She continued her education at Port Huron Junior College, earning her associate degree in June 1967. Pauline dedicated her entire professional life to nursing in Bad Axe and throughout Michigan's Thumb, ultimately serving as a home hospice care nurse, a role in which she brought comfort, compassion, and dignity to countless families. With her talents at the sewing machine, and with needle and thread, she devoted hundreds of hours to quilting blankets for loved ones and for charitable causes around the world. An avid green thumb, she would often leave a note for Bernie above her desk that said, "I'm in the garden," and she is now truly in God's eternal garden.

On August 19, 1967, Pauline married Bernard Kubacki of Ubly, Michigan, and together they raised four children. She is survived by her husband, Bernie; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Wendy Kubacki; grandson, Michael Ross and his wife, Staci; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Matthew Heintz; granddaughter, Marissa Rhodes and her husband, Jordan; granddaughters, Chloe and Liah Heintz; grandson, Noah Heintz, his wife, Hannah, and great-grandchildren, Miriam and Samuel Heintz; daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Mike Bairski, and granddaughter, Bailey Rose Bairski; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kristy Kubacki; grandchildren, Liam and Casper Kubacki; and granddaughter, Eva Kubacki and her fiancée, Lauren Sharp.

Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate Pauline's life on January 2, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, 4408 S. Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan, with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be held afterward at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Drive, Portage, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. She will be interred at a later date at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Smith's Corners, Michigan.
