Peggy Lee Wooden, age 77, of Portage, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 9, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1948, the daughter of Dale and Marjorie Webster.

Peggy cherished her childhood memories of spending time on her grandfather's farm alongside her sister, Roxann, and her brothers, Ted and Rod. Those early years helped shape her love of family and the simple joys of life.

On September 23, 1967, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ray Wooden. Together they built a life filled with adventure, laughter, and treasured memories.

Throughout her career, Peggy worked for the Brown Company, the Kalamazoo Police Station, and Top Quality Refractory. She also fulfilled her dream of business ownership, operating the Coffee Break Restaurant in Mattawan from 1990 until 1999, where she enjoyed serving and connecting with members of the community.

Peggy loved traveling, especially trips to Las Vegas and Reno. She enjoyed the casino's in Joliet and cherished the Sunday car rides with Ray. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, Whether it was baking, playing card games or listening to there tales. Peggy never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed visiting with people.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Wooden, her parents and siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lisa (Tony) Pringle and Jim (Stephanie) Wooden; her grandchildren, Blayne (Ayana) Wooden, Rochelle Pringle, Sydnee (Mathew) Keith, and Anthony (Jesse) Pringle; her great-grandchildren, Blayne Wooden Jr. and Owen Keith; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Peggy's memory may be directed to Centrica Care Navigators or the American Cancer Society.

In accordance with Peggy's wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services will be held at this time.

Peggy will be remembered for her warm heart, her love of family, and the joy she found in sharing life's adventures with those she loved most.
