Randall "Randy" Gene Topp, age 74, of Plainwell, MI, passed away peacefully at his home in Plainwell, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on September 1, 1950, in Kalamazoo, MI, Randy was the beloved son of Neil Lee Topp and Virginia Mae (Slater) Topp. He grew up in the Kalamazoo area and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, later learning the painting trade that would become his lifelong profession. For 50 years, Randy worked as a skilled painter, known for his precision, work ethic, and friendly spirit. After retiring from painting, he enjoyed a second career as a blackjack dealer at FireKeepers Casino and Gun Lake Casino, where he was quick with a smile, a good story, and a friendly word for everyone who sat at his table.
Randy had a zest for life and a knack for enjoying the simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler and golfer, a frequent casino visitor, and a dedicated sports fan-always cheering on the Michigan Wolverines, the Detroit Tigers, and the Detroit Lions. He loved WWE wrestling and had a special passion for drag racing, both watching it on TV and attending events in person.
Randy is survived by his children, Nicholas (Brenna) Topp and Aaron Topp; grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Topp; and step-grandchildren, Aden and Noah Smith, and Nicholas Brand. He is also survived by his siblings, Gerald (Merrie) Topp and Linda (Greg) Lusso; and many extended family members and friends.
Randy's warmth, humor, and love for life will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
